I’ve grown to appreciate when you take a mini-hiatus from your blog. Though I imagine it’s because you actually have a life to live, I secretly imagine it’s a challenge for us to actually apply the pearls of wisdom you frequently leave here.
I go on adventures. It’s in my nature. Sometimes I write about them, and sometimes they’re just for me. I haven’t decided which this will be, but so far it involves monkeys and waterfalls and healers and flowers and ancient ceremonies and so much profound happiness that I can barely contain myself.
I haven’t even gotten to the full moon party or the photoshoot, so you’ll forgive me if my attention is elsewhere for a few more days. Just know that I am in a wonderful place right now — spiritually, emotionally, and of course, geographically.
I’ll be back soon. You all know that. In the meantime, thanks for being a part of my life. I hope you know how much I appreciate everything that you share with me.
You are all my secret treasure.
<3
Incredibly happy for you!
Aw. You hella cute too bud x
This question/comment/observation was so apt! I just got back from Bali, and i know what you mean…
So happy for you 🙂
This is wonderful to read xo. Just curious, are you still writing (and planning to publish) that book you told us about a few months ago?
Very happy for you. You deserve a break and as much happiness as you can hold with both hands.
If you’re still near central Bali, I’m just going to throw out some unsolicited Ubud food recommendations.
Copper Kitchen restaurant is a little gem, attached to BismaEight hotel, with mind blowing food. I also feel that Fair Warung Bale is exactly your type of hang out, the doctor/owner has an incredible story to tell when you catch him after a late night dinner.
Oh and wherever you may be, hope you have a wonderful time.
<3
This is so fucking cute.
you’re our secret treasure, coquette 🙂
While working with the vine, I thought about you. Thank you for inspiring me to be a full on skeptic unafraid to jump right into that spiritual oceans of our inner world. you da besss
Have a great time, you deserve it!! <3
I just teared up a little bit. Life is a wonderful, painful, beautiful mess, and I will be forever grateful for this advice blog. Or rather secret treasure.
You’d better not be my Australian cousin.
No worries, definitely not Australian!
phew
Hoping you’re still in SE Asia. Such a magical place. I love Bali – especially Canggu. Renting bikes, taking time away, not being at the computer. The food is fucking magical and everyone is so kind. It’s a powerful part of the world.
That sounds exquisite! Glad you are having such a wonderful time.
Happy for you, Coq. Have an amazing time out there. <3
Sounds like you are having a good time 🙂
Sounds like an amazing trip, Coke! Savor it! <3
“monkeys and waterfalls and healers and flowers and ancient ceremonies”
Strikes me as surprisingly New Age-y for you Coquette.
But what the hell, why not ?
I’ve been thinking a lot about how a person from 5 years ago isn’t actually the same person as the today person. And wondering how the persistence of our virtual identities impedes our ability to leave the “old-self” behind as a vague memory and embrace future selves. Coquette is quite a counter example to that last claim as a persistent virtual alter ego that presents change and growth without shame or regret. (At least I tend to see it like that. It could be exceptional skill in tying up a narrative. I need at least a couple more hours to dedicate to the problem of renewal of identity and virtual logs of identity.)
Glad to hear you’re having a great time. <3
it’ll pass.
“monkeys and waterfalls and healers and flowers and ancient ceremonies”
K.
Also I’m mentally revising the demographics of Coquette’s readership to be overwhelmingly white, rather than just skewed-white.
You’re sooooo cool.
Does one get a SJW merit badge when you attempt to call out CT?
Let’s not embrace SJW as a pejorative term. Coquette using it once in an offhand way shouldn’t be taken as permission to start casually using a term that’s mostly thrown around by MRA assholes, Gamergaters and regressive dipshits to criticize people who are (in theory) anti-racist and pro-equality.
Social Justice Warrior is also an amazing social label. Why would being a warrior for social justice be a bad thing? Using that term pejoratively just makes the people who created it look like huge fascists (which is pretty funny). Enemies of social progressives have just given them the coolest name ever, why squander it by letting it become unanimously pejorative?
Eh, I’m a progressive feminist liberal, and I use SJW all the time. We need a way to call out righteousness because it can get outta hand.
Tell me that progressive feminist liberal sounds better than Social Justice Warrior though. That’s all I’m really saying. It’s a cool name.
Or you can just enamor yourself with the absurdity of the phrase in all of its contexts by using a word replacer plug-in to change SJW to spooky skeleton.
I also recommend changing millennial to snake person.
snerson
(Snail person)
Right?
Maybe I’m just a miserable fuck who doesn’t feel joy anymore, but that sounded like some Eat, Pray, Love shit.
I must be a bit of a grump as well, because those were my thoughts as well.
Roger that.
Spot on.
“Maybe I’m just a miserable fuck who doesn’t feel joy anymore”
YOU CALLED IT. Be bitter elsewhere, asshole.
Just out of curiosity…what, about any of those things, has a racial bias? I mean, do you think those things aren’t seen, experienced, enjoyed or even read about by people of color?
I mean, I thought I was the king of connecting the wrong dots, but noooo, I can’t even have that achievement to myself.
also,
Please come back Cqt, I need my patience battery recharged and reading your posts is like hot tea.
Hahaha. The MDMA over there must be doing its job as well. Enjoy the good vibes!
Do let us in on your travels! Especially HK, my hometown and miss it dearly!
Party on.
I wish I was as cool asyou:’)( ???
Party on, you beautiful soul.
this was so sweet. sounds like you are following your bliss, and i’m so very happy for you!
We love you too, Coke! Well, most of us anyways. And as for the rest….fuck ’em if they can’t take a joke!
You’re the best! Glad you’re out there enjoying all the world has to offer.
Tearing up. Thanks for the love. Thank you for sharing your joy and your wisdom.
Ciao Coke,
Take a deep breath and just ignore all of us until you return, rested and ready for the fray.
This is wonderful. May I borrow some of this? Your energy, I mean. Working on maintaining my own; I’m navigating the second act of a wannabe-debilitating depressive episode. Your impression in my life has been profound and healing. Always selfishly reassuring when you are on the receiving end. Thank you.
Most wonderful you, I am smiling with joy. You are all the love and I’m glad the universe is reflecting it back to you. Have the most wonderful time.
Demosthenes, you are beloved and we will do all we can to help.
Don’t come back…this election shit is a dumpster fire buffet of feverish proportions.
Stay as long as you can.
Myanmar. Myanmar?
